Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Delray Beach with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in Florida may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. Typical hours are 10 AM–6 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (561) 266-2068. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, captainclaysseafood.com.

Customers rate it 4.9 out of 5 on Google across 685 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded seafood markets in Delray Beach.

Delray Beach is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Delray Beach is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Florida's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We saw this seafood store on YouTube, and watched all of his fillet videos. A must watch! We got some yellowtail grouper and even a dorsal fin. It’s the best fish we ever had! We made our Airbnb trip around this store and we are having a fantastic time in Delray Beach. Highly recommend this area and especially Captain Clay and Son seafood market.

I went there for the 1st time and didn't know what to expect. The guys were very knowledgeable and friendly. The place is very clean and the fish is fresh. I definitely recommend going there.

This place is awesome! Friendly people and very helpful with recommending what to get. We were from out of town and it was great to find a fresh/local seafood market. We got a mix of seafood: Tilefish, Jumbo pink shrimp, stone crab and crab cakes. Highly recommend

The best place for fresh, locally caught fish with excellent service. I visited for the first time on one of their busiest daysβ€”three people deep on December 30, 2025β€”and was amazed at how calm and efficient the entire staff was. I was lucky to be helped by Reed, one of the owners. His knowledge, patience, and kindness truly stood out. He knew every fish in the case, how it would taste, and the best ways to cook it. Hearing his family story and the history of the market, you could clearly see the pride he has with his family and his work. This is the only place I will go for the fresh seafood and the experience! Thank you Reed for all your suggestions. The wreck fish was off the charts delicious and my seafood stew, was tasty perfection. Ask about the daily fresh smoked seafood salad made on the premises. Delicious!

My husband called in an order of Pink Swordfish for us. He let them know it's gonna be a few hours (I was at the movies haha). As soon I got out of the movies, I had a message from them letting me know my order was ready. I called to let them know I was 1.5 hours away and would need there ASAP. They were so nice, said I had plenty of time. Once I was there, i had to buy some shrimp too. They packed a little baggie of ice on my purchase because they knew I came from afar. Sick a great crew of folks there. Oh, and the seafood was spectacular! No photos. My bad haha
